Through community involvement and employee events,
Norris Cylinder supports organizations
that enable people to lead independent, productive and fulfilling lives. We've developed
strong relationships with qualified, nonprofit organizations that empower individuals by
promoting responsibility, tolerance and respect for others in our community. Some core
community and employee offerings follow.
Community Involvement
- More than 70 nonprofit organizations fall under the United Way umbrella. Norris
Cylinder raises funds for the United Way.
- At Christmas, Norris Cylinder sponsors the Buckner Angel Tree to benefit needy
children and seniors within the community. Event participants purchase requested items
and deliver gifts and meals to needy families.
- Employees provide annual donations to a local Blood Drive. The convenience of an on-site
blood drive contributes to high employee participation.
- To promote education in the community, we participate in the annual Jr. Achievement Bowl-a-thon.
- Norris Cylinder Company provides donations to Longview Police Department to raise awareness for drug abuse.
- A number of employees participate in Longview Heart Walk sponsored by American Heart
Association, MDA Lock-up sponsored by Muscular Dystrophy Association, Buddy Walk sponsored by the
Down Syndrome Association, and Walk America sponsored by the March of Dimes.
Employee Events
- Norris Cylinder hosts a quarterly service award luncheon that recognizes outstanding employee
contributions in technological innovations, exemplary service and tenure.
- A company-wide picnic including various activities to heighten team camaraderie.
- We also sponsor quarterly luncheons to discuss how our business is doing and annual Holiday parties.
